Ten days after formation of the Canadian Farmworkers’ Union (CFU), bat-wielding thugs attacked the home of vice-president Jawala Singh Grewal, smashing windows and trashing his pickup truck. Founding organizers Raj Chouhan and Sarwan Boal both recalled incidents of threats and physical violence from farmers while organizing with the union.
